Christopher & Sara – Canton, Ohio – Military Wedding

Going back to November 2009 (that’s right, it’s catch up time finally): Christopher & Sara were married in Jamaica. (Fabulous place, wish I could have been there for that part!) Their reception followed at the Willowdale Lake Country Club and I had the privilege of being there for the evening of celebration they shared with their friends and family! Sara’s mom Ava, pulled together a fabulous evening – if I am not mistaken, all by herself. What a mom! My favorite part of the decor was the candy buffet! (That’s right, this photographer has a sweet tooth.) The caricaturist was also a great touch and I believe that was Sara’s art teacher? Maybe this will be the next big thing for wedding receptions?! I also loved how the location had such a special feel to it. For some reason, I kept thinking of the camp that the movie “Dirty Dancing” is set in, out east. And that’s a good thing, at least to me. Military weddings are special events, whether a ceremony and reception or a simple celebration with family and friends. My brother is an active serviceman in the Air Force and while I try not to let it happen, I tend to get teary around men in uniform. I can’t help but think of my brother far away on the other side of the world. I’m proud of him, but I miss him. And I see him in every uniformed military man I meet. I’m grateful for all my brides & grooms but I have a special affection for those who serve our country.

Thank you Christopher! I wish you and Sara all the best wherever your journey takes you!

Corey Ann - I used o go there a lot when I was in High School, such a fun location that few know about because it’s so hidden!
