Amanda and John were married at Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens with a reception following at The Tangier. It was a day that threatened torrential rain, and delivered…many times. But the skies did clear long enough for some portrait time on the grounds of Stan Hywet and nothing could have made Amanda [and I] more happy. Despite what is so often said about rain being good luck on a wedding day – with a location as gorgeous as Stan Hywet – taking all portraits indoors just isn’t the same! [Though I thought the ceremony inside the Conservatory was gorgeous!] The day also afforded a reunion with one of my favorite couples from 2008: Amy and Jesse. What a treat that was!!
Funny story about the picture below…Amanda said when the bridesmaids dresses were being chosen (innocently at the time), something to the effect of, “I don’t care if you show up in garbage bags, just as long as they are black!” So her bridesmaids showed up in garbage bags when it was time to leave for the ceremony. …Brides: be careful what you say. Your bridesmaids might take you seriously. But Amanda took the practical joke VERY well and we all had a pretty good laugh!!
