I've been beaten and bruised by love but I am still a believer. I am a photographer & a travel writer. And a lover of adventure. I am a sister, daughter and a friend. I am currently based in the Midwest but in the process of moving to New York City. Along the way I'll be traveling the US and some of Europe. I'm booking for 2011 all over the USA with jobs already in 4 states. When I'm not planning my next trip or taking photographs and writing stories...I am usually reading, cooking, or soaking up quality time with my family and friends who are [sadly] scattered to the four winds. I do all this with a soundtrack and my iPhone close at hand!

I also love to give back and am constantly on the look out for charities to support. Currently, I buy Toms Shoes and I give to Charity: Water. These are such a simple things: shoes and clean water. Yet so many are without them around the world. We can all help! Won't you join me?

Angie & Jamin – Florida Wedding Photography

Angie and Jamin hired me while I still lived in Ohio, to do their destination wedding in Florida and since I love a beach wedding I was pretty excited to work with them! Also, they are very sweet people who I have just come to love and adore. They were married on a very beautiful day in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida – right on the beach. Their reception, at the Sheraton Yankee Clipper, was coordinated by the talented and very kind – Kandice Brooks of Signature Soirees. The Sheraton is a great venue for any event and has amazing customer service. (They’re also home to the Mermaid Bar which was used in a scene in the movie “Analyze That”! Cool right? I thought it was pretty fun!) It was a great Florida weekend and I am so grateful to Angie & Jamin for asking me to be part of their lives for such a special time!

Going Back – AR & TN Travel Photography

Having been raised north of the Mason Dixon Line, as an innocent college student even in the late 90′s in the South; I think I harbored somewhat of a misunderstanding with regards to southern culture. At the time, I think I referenced my surroundings mostly in stereotypes and movie lines. And I was almost too busy experiencing it all to take very many pictures.

Flash forward more than a decade (yikes) and taking pictures has gone from being my hobby and great love, to being my job and great love. As I returned last week to the stomping grounds of my late teens and early twenties, I found a South largely unchanged. Instead, it was my understanding of it which had changed. It was my appreciation for it which had grown over the years I’d been gone. I can’t put into words what the South means to me now. All my lackluster writing skills mean nothing when emotion is the ruling factor. This time though, I took pictures. And this time; I listened, watched and tried not to judge – but instead, to celebrate. I celebrated both the stereotypical charms of the South and some which are perhaps, lesser known.
