Kirsten Alana: Travel, Wedding & Portrait Photographer bio picture

I've been beaten and bruised by love but I am still a believer. I am a photographer & a travel writer. And a lover of adventure. I am a sister, daughter and a friend. I am currently based in the Midwest but in the process of moving to New York City. Along the way I'll be traveling the US and some of Europe. I'm booking for 2011 all over the USA with jobs already in 4 states. When I'm not planning my next trip or taking photographs and writing stories...I am usually reading, cooking, or soaking up quality time with my family and friends who are [sadly] scattered to the four winds. I do all this with a soundtrack and my iPhone close at hand!

I also love to give back and am constantly on the look out for charities to support. Currently, I buy Toms Shoes and I give to Charity: Water. These are such a simple things: shoes and clean water. Yet so many are without them around the world. We can all help! Won't you join me?

Ashley & Eric – NE Ohio Wedding Photography

Ashley and Eric were married at McDonaldsville Methodist Church in North Canton, Ohio with a reception following at the Art Museum & Cultural Center in Canton, Ohio. It was a day that threatened rain on and off but never delivered (thankfully) so we were able to do wedding party photographs at McKinley Memorial, which was so important to Ashley! (Thank you wedding party for enduring the one million steps that take you to the top…that was a chore on a day with a humidity temp over 100 degrees!) It was a beautiful day!

And I took my favorite ring shot so far…I just love the cherries! Thank heavens for the bartender who did not mind my sticky fingers as I pilfered his stockpile!

2009 Flowers – NE Ohio – Wedding Photography

I had a part time job working as a florist when I was in high school and have always had an obsession with flowers…whenever I can afford it, I make sure to have a flowering plant or a bouquet in my home. Definitely one of the ways to my heart is fresh flowers!! So – it’s no surprise that yet again in 2009 one of my favorite things to photograph was the floral element of any wedding I shot. There were some true classics and some surprises and I was able to work several times with Sonja of Bloom Floral Designs – who I highly recommend!
