Birdie in Curaçao at Santa Barbara Resort

A complimentary press trip to Curaçao was made possible by Benchmark Resorts & Hotels which represents Santa Barbara Resort. OLIKA is compensating me for promotion of ‘Birdie’.

I’d never been to Curaçao, so when Benchmark Resorts & Hotels asked if I’d like to visit to review Santa Barbara Resort I thought it was a good opportunity to get insight into a country I’d always wondered about. When I was invited to experience a brand new product, ‘Birdie’ by OLIKA, this summer – I thought Curaçao as a destination would be perfect for a photo story in a country where surely the ocean would match the gorgeous color of this product.

I was not wrong there! Birdie matched the ocean, my beach bag, my sunglass case and basically everything I knew and loved during my trip! Birdie is a hand sanitizer and kudos to OLIKA for knowing that this is one of the things I religiously carry when I travel. From picking up things on the seashore to running my hands through every texture I can, to really get the feel of a place — my hands always need a little cleaning. I think I am a kid at heart who still explores through touch first and then through sight when I am traveling! With my new 2-in- 1 feathered friend, I never worried about what germs I might be picking up as I did so and I was always prepared to get clean with both a spray and wipes.

About Birdie from OLIKA:

Named “The World’s Most Beautiful Hand Sanitizer,” by Fast Company, Birdie marries form and function to create a delightful consumer experience as a nature-inspired and inherently different by design personal care solution. Birdie contains the cleaning power of a hand sanitizing spray, which includes 20mL of soothing essential oils and nourishing aloe vera leaf juice, while housing ten textured dry wipes to capture dirt and grime in his base. Complemented by the intrinsic beauty of minimalist Scandinavian design, the first-of-its-kind hand sanitizer spray from OLIKA offers both a unique and refreshing personal care experience. Birdie boasts a simple signature fragrance with a sophisticated blend of aromatic notes inspired by nature, including aloe vera leaf juice and the essential oils of bergamot, lemon and spearmint. Standing at 3×2 inches and complete with a locking mechanism, OLIKA’s “feathered friend” is an ideal travel size. Birdie retails online for $8.99 and is available in three colors: Robin’s Egg, Charcoal and Eggshell. [source: OLIKA]

Coincidentally, Aloe is one of the primary products Curaçao produces and exports. Is there aloe from Curaçao in Birdie? I don’t know! But I thought that fact was a fun one!

PROPERTY SPOTLIGHT
With no adults-only pool, no adults-only swim hours and no dedicated amenities geared toward solo travelers such as myself, I feel Santa Barbara Resort is best experienced by those who are traveling with children or in groups. I would recommend partaking in dinner at SHORE during your stay at Santa Barbara Resort. Every dish I had was divine. I enjoyed a superb Chilean rosé and the cocktails were a delight. The truffle risotto was one of the best I’ve ever had. So good I went back to have it twice. You should also visit Atabei Spa which has private rooms for each person being treated, or per couple. In other words: no de-robing in a crowded changing room with lockers. You have a shower, bathroom and relaxation area all to yourself! I really enjoyed the massage I had, so much so that it was the highlight of my stay. I also took out a kayak early one morning for a hard workout that ended with floating on the current and watching the schools of fish below my boat. Then, I borrowed snorkel gear and tried to find fish in the resort’s enclosed beach area.

It certainly had gorgeous moments, Dee! Especially in its shades of blue. Thanks for the comment.

    Uhu, your pictures are gorgeous!!!
I heard about this brand of hand sanitizers but never used their products. I think that will be a good small gift for my husband. He is the one who always needs hand sanitizers.

Yes! Definitely it makes a good small gift! I’ve already given one away as well and the receiver loved it.
